I need your audio recording help, Oppo!
Track day this weekend, and I’d like to start capturing better audio with my Hero3 Black edition. What should I buy, and where should I mount it?

I don’t know what to buy, but I’m pretty sure near the exhaust is a good place for audio.

FR-S gets decent audio from inside the cabin thanks to all the resonators

Here’s what I got . And here’s how it works:
GoPro is mounted to the tow hook in the front bumper with a handlebar mount. I taped the mic to the front bumper support behind the bumper itself. It’s protected from wind noise, close enough to the engine to get vroom-vroom sounds, but not so close that it gets overloaded. (It’s still a little bit too loud but not bad.) It also picks up sound from the tires, too.
This particular mic costs only a couple of dollars more than the $20 adapter you need to plug most mics into a Go-Pro, which is the main reason I went for it. I need to keep experimenting, but I’m getting better. Cabin audio inside my helmet, and audio from inside the spare tire well in the trunk, was too loud and caused clipping.

The zoom h1 is only $100 and does a great job for me!

Nice! This is probably the way I’m gonna go for now.
